Annie has been serving families across the United States in various roles for over 42 years. Her experience includes:

She has worked in Arizona, Connecticut, rural Northeast Nevada, Southern Illinois, Metropolitan St. Louis MO/IL area, and Southern Kentucky, as well as internationally and virtually when needed.
Trained through the Apprenticeship Model, enrolled in the Ancient Arts Midwifery Institute, and dedicated to self-study, Annie is a lifelong learner. She continues to expand her knowledge, with a particular focus on off-grid skills and “low-tech, no-tech” practices.
Leadership and Dedication
Certified by Madriella in 2010, Annie served as the Head of the Madriella Advisory Board from 2013 to 2020. During her tenure, she:
- Oversaw the curriculum revision for Madriella’s 2014 doula program.
- Played a key role in creating the separate postpartum certification.
- Designed the 2017 curriculum release including a Childbirth Education Certification and Placenta Specialist Certification.
As the face of the Madriella organization to its students from 2013 until January 2020, Annie was a trusted guide and mentor to countless aspiring doulas.

Annie is deeply passionate about bodily autonomy. She firmly believes that the person who is pregnant is the only one who can make decisions about their body and level of care. Her mission is to support, educate, and empower you to make the choices that feel right for you.
