Current Student Doula Status

Bright Blessings role: Student / apprentice doula.

Professional membership: Student Doula member of the Doula Alliance of Arkansas.

Renee is in the academic and shadowing stage of her doula studies. She may attend births in Central Arkansas when appropriate for student learning, but she is not listed as a primary doula.

Developing Practice Focus

Renee has been taking time as a new mother herself and is looking toward postpartum support as a developing focus area, including the emotional and mental health needs that can come with the postpartum season.

Her earlier professional path in archaeology centered on preservation of history. Her developing doula work carries that same value forward in a new way: preservation of women’s autonomy, dignity, and support during one of the most vulnerable seasons of family life.
